Extreme Makeover: Me Edition Update

Whaaattt?! It's Wednesday? Seriously, I thought it was Tuesday. Uh, I wasn't really ready to do this. Check out all the other people who are ready to do this over at Amber's.

The question this week:
"Name your guilty pleasure. Think of a healthier choice you could use as a substitute"

Honestly, I'm bad at this!! I'd rather give myself some of what I crave than try and find something different. I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone has come up with!

Here's a list of my weakness':

Chocolate............I'll at least eat Dark Chocolate

Peanut Butter {Honestly, I think I have an addiction}.............I try to limit myself to 4 spoonfuls a day..eek, that's a lot of calories!

Desserts {brownies, cookies, cake, ice cream, etc...}.................yeah, pretty much cave on these. I just try to use really small portions

Rich food {creamy mashed potatoes, pasta sauces, etc...}............Have given these up completely. At least for awhile.

The only thing I can crave and eat healthy is mexican food. I just eliminate the shell, tortilla and rice. I just love the flavors...and those are just fillers, so it's not so hard for me.

As far as my week went. I did all my workouts and really watched what I ate {ok, except the Peanut butter} so I feel really good about that. Was surprised to find myself up a pound this week. I'm sure it's water weight, so I'm not too worried. Still it's just a bummer to see that number. It totally psyches you out, doesn't it?! I feel like my work didn't do anything.

I know that's ridiculous, but that's why the scale is EVIL!! I may throw mine away ;)

I'm sensing a scale-burning movement! I'm in :) My old scale totally lied to me and told me I was beautiful and thin (okay, just thin), and then I'd go to the dr. office and it would tell me the cold, hard, truth. So, I got a new scale. An honest scale. But the truth is hard to swallow sometimes.

*I'm with you, I don't substitute. I may try to limit, but I don't subsitute :)

The scale IS evil! I think moderation is the key, and I am soooo with you on the Mexican food.

Lisa,

It is a bummer when the number goes out. It's mostly a mental game with weight loss in my opinion. Yea you have to do the exercise as well but it's just darn hard.

I love peanut butter too. I haven't had any in months because I used to take a teaspoon of peanut butter and 1 Weight Watchers coconut dream candy every night. Sometimes more than one a night and more than two...you get my drift.

Don't fret, next week WILL be better. The scale is so evil!!

Much love from NJ,
Sue

The scale is definitely evil! I HATE when I've been working hard and then it slaps me in the face like that!

You are doing awesome though...good luck with the upcoming week!

Wow, it's all in favor of chucking the scales by the looks of your comments! I tend to look at how my clothing fits as a better sign of how things are going because, remember, with workouts, your body will gain muscle, which weighs more than fat. You are doing the RIGHT things, even if the scale isn't validating it!

Have you considered natural peanut butter? I like the Smuckers variety because it has enough oil to stir in that it's not like wallpaper paste, as my husband's experience with natural p.b. has been. It's good for you to get those good fats in moderation, but the stuff like Jif is loaded with sugar and hydrogenated fats. Aahh - sorry! Hope I didn't burst your bubble. :D

Keep it up and have a good week!

Dang it water weight! I completely agree that the scale is evil and I'm totally addicted to stepping on the stupid thing every single day.

Peanut butter actually has healthy fats in it...so it isn't that bad...in moderation. :)

I love mexican food too but I love the tortilla and rice!

Have a great week!

I'm definitely feeling the scale burning movement! I started taking my measurements every week for comparison. Because the scale doesn't always keep up. There are so many other factors that get in the way sometimes. Measurements don't lie {except for around your stomach if you've just eaten--NOT the best time for measurements, lol}
