After reading this post from Jen at Lipstick and Laundry. It reminded me that last summer I really wanted to start wearing more skirts. I mean, I'm a girlie girl after all, right?!
So, I found a few casual skirts and ended up not really wearing them. Now, in fairness, it may have been because I'd gained some weight and they were feeling a little tight. But, I think it was really about not feeling comfortable in skirts. Like I was too "dressy"...no matter the look. Do you feel that way?
Anyhoo...I wore a skirt today, and remembered another reason I don't feel as comfortable in them. Uh, it's a little revealing. When you have to squat down to refill the "bubble bucket". Um, hi...what color underwear am I wearing? How much cellulite do you see? Ya know...the usual. But, I will persevere, cause that's who I am, and still make this the summer of skirts.
The bonus...they are infinately cooler, at least for me, than capris or shorts. I really like the look, too! So next time you see me...excuse me for showing you my undies as I fill up the bubbles!! :)

I love it! Skirts look so cool and classy, but you're right, I always feel a bit 'exposed' (remember to wear nice undies!). I am going to try to wear them more when out and about, if not at home filling the bubble bucket :-)
I want to wear more skirts too! I'm in desperate need of a shopping trip to replenish the wardrobe :) I like casual skirts because you can wear them day in and day out. You feel like you've put a little effort into it, but you're still cool and comfy. But yeah, you do gotta watch the undies! :)
I'm sure you'll be fine. After 4 months of jeans, anything above the ankle feels revealing!
ahhh, I have been watching What not to Wear and bought 2 skirts and have also been trying to wear them. Everytime I do, I hear, "Where are you going today?" And I did feel really dressy and they are casual Old Navy skirts. I am with you, I will persevere.
I looooooooooooove me my summer time skirts! Just don't ever ever ever wear a skirt with runners/sneakers...not a good look!!!
